Kathleen Rhee

My passion lies in capturing and expressing my environment through my unique
perspective, inviting viewers to see and feel what I experience. I have always been
deeply introspective, observant, and acutely aware of the feelings and energies of living
beings and my natural environment. My fascination with unseen positive energies of
people, places, and spaces compels me to translate them into my work.

Kathleen is an accomplished Australian abstract artist based on the Gold Coast, where
she has cultivated her distinctive style. Her passion lies in creating large-scale abstract
paintings that beautifully echo the serene and diverse landscapes of Australia. With a
strong academic background, Kathleen studied at the Brisbane Institute of Art, the ANU
Art School in Canberra, and the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York City.
Her artistic journey has led her to exhibit her works internationally, with pieces residing in
both private and public collections across 15 countries. Notably, she is a prize finalist and
gained recognition when her art was featured on the national television home renovation
series ‚The Block‘ during both 2019 and 2020 seasons.
Kathleen’s artwork embodies the essence of nature, seamlessly bringing the outdoors
indoors. Her gentle use of colours—soft pinks, vibrant blues, and tranquil turquoise
greens—infuses spaces with a profound sense of peace and harmony. Her unique style
captivates viewers with its atmospheric quality, achieved through careful attention to
colour dynamics, depth, and rich detail. The vibrant colours and calming energy of her
natural surroundings serve as continuous inspiration for her work.
